March 18th show at the UPS and more

Underground Family,

Last Thursday at the UPS was a very powerful and inspirational show. It is amazing when you enter into some one’s life and hear their story how blessed you feel. Mos Def once said on def poetry jam,”if we all threw our problems in a circle, some of us will go get our problems back and go get some more problems. I would like to thank YOU for being in the building last Thursday, all the poets who touched the stage, esp. Marquis, India, and Simone for sharing their story, and our great host Mic tha Poet.

Things to look out for:

Verbal Blend Poetry Slam

Introducing something new to the Underground Poetry Spot!!!!
India “Yaya” Clark presents the Poetic Soap Opera… she has put together a soap series that will run throughout the month of April. This is going to be HOT! National Poetry Month is going to be on point! More information about the Poetic Soap Opera will be available soon.

April 1 — Host: Mic tha Poet. Open Mic, Poetry Battle TBA, and our features will be Tiffany Viruet aka Ms. Contrary and Aaron Cage aka Agame. $3 entry fee.

Tiffany is an SU student and member of Verbal Blend. She is also my little sister and one of the most prolific poets at her age. She is very blunt with her words, so please get ready for an amazing performance.

Agame is probably one of the funniest poets at the Underground. If you need a good laugh with great poetic words, PLEASE make sure you are there for his performance. And you know the laptop will be in the building lol. In his words, Agame says, “B ready cause I’m gonna take em to church then back to bed lol.”

Also tickets are selling fast so make sure you get your tickets for Taalam Acey on April 15, 2010. for tickets information please email me at stwilson31@gmail.com.
