More Shout Outs

Gotta make a quick post thanking Dave Frisina for having me on Syracuse’s very own SOUNDCHECK on TK99 (Syracuse FM Radio 99.5) this past Sunday…

Nobody has done more for local musicians over tha years than Dave. He has full reign over his radio programming….and he obviously doesn’t mind stepping out of tha “classic rock” box from time to time.

Tha music he features every Sunday night from 9-10pm ranges from folk to funk, from rock to rap. He even did a live showcase with my peoples – Sophistafunk – live from Shify’s (on Burnett in tha ‘Cuse). Dave is tha man.  He’ll be gettin me a recording of our interview and my live recital of “Tha Birth of Lit-Hop.”  I’ll put it on tha multimedia page ASAP

peace

Shout Outs

Yesterday you might have heard me on Power 106.9 on Syracuse FM Radio, shouting out tha Underground Poetry Spot, founder Seneca Wilson…and of course my bday party featuring Kom Plex and Eric Darby…  Big shout out to DJ Kenny Dees and to my friends and colleagues, Mia Burse and James Austin.

Of course, respect to Archie The Messenger and Lyrical The Lyricist, as well…  Their show, “No Stage,” and tha preceding Youth Exhibition, produced by Renaissance Culture Movement, provided tha avenue for me to mention Syracuse’s local spoken word movement…THE UNDERGROUND POETRY SPOT.  Seneca and I watched Archie and Lyrical in January when RCM produced their first Syracuse show, “An Evening of Expression.”  We we exuberantly pleased to see a crowd matching our own in quality and quantity, yet with very little overlapping with our audience.  We knew we would soon be teaming with very like-minded individuals, to cross-promote and potentially work together in even greater fashions.  I believe I speak for tha crew, when I say the UPS looks forward to a great relationship with RCM,

…and we vow to continue to offer Syracuse entertainment that is as educational and informative, as it is inspirational and uplifiting.

And what an amazing weekend next Friday and Saturday (July 30-31) will provide to kick it all off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

peace
