MTP 3.0

Well, I survived. Tha world did not stop rotating when I “turned” thirty. And I felt quite tha same on day one of 30 as tha last day of 29.

…just more hungover!!

Just sayin…we had some fun at tha Birthday Bash. So many shout outs, to many to mention – but you know who y’all are!! Let’s just say much love to FAMILY.

I suppose I should have some witty banter about being older and wiser but it’s too dam hot and I’m just not feeling it right now, lol…. but yeah – I’ll get back to ya with some knowledge ASAP.

I been layin low and grindin out my first full-length spoken word project, a 12-track CD:

Poetry.Wit.Music. is tha mixtape preview. watch out

Look for tha complete debut album at tha end of tha summer…mixtape preview gonna hit tha streets tonight in Queens. I’ll be at The Grind coffeehouse in Sunnyside to SLAM w/ fellow Underground and Verbal Blend poets at tha Underground Poetry Spot’s second home. Come thru if you wanna preview tha new joints on mixtape – and see a great Underground Slam w featured poet, P.O.E.T. yup.

Peace

“Cinematic Poetry” by India Clark (aka Yaya)

I am Gone with the wind, someone please tell me Which Way is Up?
I have met this Ironman who has me Sprung, now I’m running around like I’m on some Funny Farm,

I understand that I am this Pretty Woman, with eyes the color of Brown Sugar
But the way he made my Love Jones come down, has me feeling like Lady Sings The Blues,

He knows I’ve enjoyed having Sex…in the city, with a few Goodfellas…you know, The Usual Suspects
And he should know that I do not enjoy playing The Crying Game,

I dated a Leo before -haha – I called him The Lion King, but he had a bad habit of
Secrets and Lies, soon there became Six Degrees of Separation between us,
I got tired of Waiting to Exhale and decided to Do the Right Thing,

I boarded an Airplane that moved through The Air up There quite swiftly; when it landed I found myself Sleepless in Seattle, in my dreams I was Romancing the Stone
In A Room with a View, I began to remove my clothes and found myself Dirty Dancing,

When the evening fell, I walked and saw a woman, she was Singing…In The Rain
I asked her name, she said “Roxanne.” She was Barefoot in The Park, she told me she doesn’t wear shoes, she likes to feel the earth move under her feet; told me a story of how she used to work Sunset Boulevard and how her hard life gave her a Braveheart

She reminded me to cherish every breath and how this is A Wonderful Life. She said “Love, is a Many-Splendored Thing.” Now that is what I call…A Walk to Remember…
