Our first year anniversary show was more than I ever expected. The feeling inside the Underground Poetry Spot was so amazing that I can’t even describe what happened. I’m so sorry for those people who were not able to attend, but you missed a show of a lifetime. I would like to thank all of the Underground Poets for all of their hard work, practice and dedication in the last two weeks to pull this off. I know everybody was glowing last night. I would also like to thank World B. Free and Melodic Seduction for helping us put on a show to remember. If you did miss it or if you were there, CJack Run has DVD’s for $8. Please contact me if you would like one.

If you enjoyed yourself last night, please remember we are at the Underground Poetry Spot every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. Our next show is September 15, 2010.

Four of the Underground Poets will be performing tomorrow at the Talent Showcase in the Pan African Village at The Great New York State Fair.

LeShana Brantley, the President of the Black Artist League will be presenting Final Word at the Schine Student Center on Friday, September 10, 2010. They will be performing in the Schine Underground at 7:30pm. Admission is $1.

Cedric Bolton’s Get on the Bus For Poetry Tour is Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 1:30pm-6:30pm.

On September 11, 2010, come to Joe Reddick’s to party with your boy for my birthday. Give More Love to me on that day!

The “FOUR HORSEMEN” of the UNDERGROUND POETRY SPOT. Cedric Bolton, Seneca Wilson, Marquis Woolford, and Michael Gaut entertain and educate Syracuse youth.

Last night was the Underground Poetry Spot’s first anniversary. To celebrate, they brought you a special show.

The only thing not in attendance was the kitchen sink, as the Spot welcomed performances from Melodic Seduction, World B. Free, and your very own Underground Poets.

The Underground Poetry Spot has a lot to be thankful for; it is our 1st year Anniversary. It is a great accomplishment, especially for a town that was not known for poetry or spoken word. But! Here we are….celebrating something that has change this city, community, and everyone who has step into the UPS, and to have us believe in something powerful and positive.

With that being said the Underground Poetry Spot would like to thank the Underground Poets for being dedicated to the UPS and always promoting a positive and family vibe; Every performer for touching the stage and sharing your words and your story with us, including some great local and national acclaim poets (Jackie Warren Moore, Omanii Abdullah, Arthur Flowers, Poetry to the People, Eric Darby, and Taalam Acey); Jeff Harris a great talented artist who hasn’t got enough credit for the logos and the undergroundpoetryspot.com website. we appreciate all that you do for the UPS and your work is absolutely amazing; shouts out to the bartenders for looking out for us to make sure we are having a great time, Diana for all of the support with keeping us going; Sev-Ira’ Brown who has been a great mentor in guiding us and helping the UPS get started, Joe Reddick for allow us use a great space and bring something positive to the city, you are a great man and God will bless you for the great things you do for people. Thank you for believing in the UPS; and lastly but most importantly YOU! for always coming out, supporting by spreading the word. This past year has been truly amazing and we would not be here if it was not for you, keep support the UPS. I am definitely looking forward to this year.

With that being said, We have an addition to the great show for tomorrow Thursday September 2, 2010. Introducing the band Melodic Seduction, they will be playing all night at our First Year Anniversary. These brothers are amazing, and you are definitely in for a treat. So the show will run as Melodic Seduction, World B. Free, and your very own Underground Poets. Truly amazing!!!
