Lamar Hill (Dirt Church) – new video!

I met Lamar and Taalam Acey several months ago in Maplewood, NJ, at the HLS Juice Bar and Grill. I’ve had video of this poem up for sometime now, but i’ve recently been messin’ around with Sony Vegas Movie Studio software… I can’t find tha card w my NewBlue effects serial number, but its all good, there are a lot of additional components I could have….and hopefully will have! I really get into digital video editing… I def am gonna start making “music videos” for each of my poems. So stay tuned, we are a work in progress over here at micthapoet.com,

…and that is a lifetime commitment, you have my promise…

B.I.G. 38th birthday

Hats off to The Notorious B.I.G who would have been 38 years old today.

If that doesn’t make you feel old, than checking out this video probably will. It’s crazy to see just how young BIG was when he was hot.

And while it is popular nowadays for radio DJ’s to bring up dates like this and throw on “Hypnotized” or “Mo’ Money”; only the true fans who owned his albums, banged his hits at high school parties, hung his picture on their walls, and remember where they were when he got shot, can truly appreciate how much time has passed since then.
