Why do I feel as tho you like to butter me up?? Hmmm maybe it's because you do whenever it's on here or when you actually txt me. lol.

Anyways, thanks and I'm glad, because we both know I love to talk. Yes, we do have some things in common. :) quiet nice. I hope more people get on here and use their brains and comment on your poems!!

I think your poetry is absolutely fantastic! But I think it's even better when you perform them! :)

Sorry it took so long for me to respond. Been busy, and was sick last week. Also, now that everyone knows i'm practicing guitar again and that I sing everyone wants to collaborate with me!! :) Walk downtown with a guitar and everyone wants you to sing for them and know you on the spot! I gotta get my A game on, because I don't really know any songs yet to sing or play off hand. I got dude at dunkin donuts give me free coffee if i play, lol. today i played for 51 5th graders!! first time publicly practicing again and i wasn't expecting a crowd and kids loved me! I'm a celebrity among them. I feel quiet awesome. :)I may have job soon in Syracuse, as well as some gigs. So, you maybe hearing me sing soon. :)

Enough about me, when are you visiting APT again?? You should make a pit stop here every once in a while.

and don't worry about tha long responses because it's just what tha site has been lacking. It takes a bold individual like yourself to express your thoughts openly for tha world to see and i can only respect u for it.... perhaps your insight will spark future enlightenment on micthapoet.com....!!!

and I am tha most long-winded mofo i know, so def don't sweat it (see response to Lit-Hop) lol

lol. To directly answer your indirect question, No I have not and will not accuse you of Blasphemy. I try to get the facts straight first, and speak out of truth instead of the common route among humanity and that's base our thoughts and perceptions on "assumptions".

That is very interesting! I have a friend who has built churches and worked on church roofs. He has read the bible, but he isn't a Christian. So little irony in the fact we know someone who has defied death and in similar industry. He also uses Religion as symbolism in his work. :)

Personally, I use it in the literal and symbolic sense, personally speaking. Also, Whatever curiosity you may have, I would be glad to listen and answer questions the best I can.

"Weather can tarnish tha copper and damage the steeple
Foundation and structure can crumble beneath it
Would it affect tha power of preaching?
Where were tha walls while Jesus was teaching?"

I love that part, and I chuckle a bit because a lot of today's preachers are money and seat filling oriented. It's very sad, but true. He said beauty is vanity and fades, the moths eat cloth, you can't take your riches to heaven, and life is fleeting. Jesus didn't need a building to preach the Gospel, and his preaching was powerful. He had a heart for the people. Yes, he preached in synagogues and peoples homes, but it wasn't his priority. His priority was his people being healed and saved. He wasn't rich with a fancy home or designer clothes. Power in preaching comes from the anointing of God, and the anointing of God comes from humility in serving him.

:) One thing you can always count on, I love to talk and go in depth with stuff. So, when I like one of your poems and choose to comment on it on your site, you'd be pleased to know it will 9 times out of 10 be quiet lengthy. lol! So, I hope you don't mind.

ok so here goes nothing... lol

i am glad u are intrigued by tha poem. perhaps i shall be happy to say ..."mission accomplished" ...

however, i must admit, tha purpose was never solely to push tha proverbial envelope ...and certainly was not to incite shock and/or intrigue based on potentially blasphemic inquiries...not that u have accused me of such...yet, anyway...lol

I certainly agree with your little rant, and from time to time I find it impossible not to address tha hypocrisies of organized religion and other establishments, but more often I find myself using symbolic references with an emphasis on my own curiosities. And in this case, tha poem represents tha very real and fair questions of a young boy - being raised in a family void of religious teachings - but with a father who literally builds and restores church steeples, crosses, and the like - for a living - while at times defying death to do so, and manifesting apparent miracles of his own.

So tha word "Father" in tha poem is used intending and accepting of every perceived interpretation. Most people do not know what a steeple-jack is, as tha term is all but lost. It just so happens my Father is one.

I'm very intrigued by your poem. One day I'd love to sit down with you and pick it apart, and get into your head and what your thoughts and feelings where at the time you wrote this.

I'm a Christian so anytime I read, see, or hear what others views on Christ are I enjoy listening to how they feel and where they stand. It overall is an excellent poem. :)

There is a lot of hypocrisy in the Churches today, and when anyone tells me I'm a religious person I get a bit irritated, because that's not what its about, and it isn't who I am. I'm far from perfect, but thank God for his grace and mercy. I hear religion, and I connect it to Pharisees, and I try my best not to be one of those kind of Christians. Holy than thou and I'm a better than you mentality. That sort of think irritates me. It's selfish to think that way.

So, I enjoy the sense of humility in your poem. You make people think, and society today just wants to be desensitized my media and deceived by false prophets, because those individuals tell them what they want to hear. They would believe a psychotic man (in today's times) that says he is God and drink poison, and then we have mass murders, because they think they will be able to hop a space ship with aliens. Yet, I'm nuts for believing in a Savior who even today heals and performs miracles that I've seen first hand in my own life?? If that's not true stupidity and ignorance idk what is.

I'm done with my rant. lol. In a nutshell... WELL SAID! I enjoyed all of it. :)
