What if I could read your mind?
In this open book I’d find
A contour map; thoughts inclined
Towards design of form and frame of mind.
Past pain rains from cloudy eyes.
Clear skies draw a rainbow inside
So much beauty; you try to hide
With sex appeal, that ain’t justified, girl
Three days ago I was so good at lonely
Three days ago I was no longer crazy
Three days ago I owned forever alone
Now there’s only time for together
So please baby don’t maybe me
With silver wings you don’t tread light.
Despite the weight of troubled nights,
You have earned the right of flight;
Do not be bound by earth’s delights.
Sing your song, wrong or right.
Off pitch, off key or just off-night;
I will not judge you in that light -
Though will be judged, it’s not our plight.
Three days ago I was so good at lonely
Three days ago I was no longer crazy
Three days ago I owned forever alone,
Now there’s only time for together
So please baby don’t maybe me
In ten years in between letting you down
I never knew if you landed softly on ground
Ten years ago I was so good at lonely
Ten years ago I was no longer crazy
Ten years ago I owned forever alone,
Now there’s only time for together
So please baby don’t maybe me
Three days ago I was so good at lonely
Three days ago I was no longer crazy
Three days ago I owned forever alone,
Now there’s only time for together
So please baby don’t maybe me
