She Wanted A Love Poem

She asked me to read her a love poem.
And i told her my love poems had been folded neatly
and placed in an envelope and sealed with a kiss -
and sent off on the first cloud i saw that looked like a spaceship…
and after a ten second countdown she took off
like the rest of them
escaping my pain
but i was still left with it;
the fragrance of sorrow…
fragments of yesterday
shaping vagabond teardrops of tomorrow
one day i’ll get used to this rain,
i just haven’t adjusted yet

She asked me to read her a love poem
but my love poems had all been buried, said I -
scribed on tha walls of ancient pyramids
and vanished within tha sands of time…
even if discovered tha DaVinci-coded hieroglyphic-design
is to deep to decipher, too divine to define-

Yeah, she wanted a love poem…
but i had placed them all in an evelope
and sealed it with a kiss…
and sent it off on tha first cloud i saw
that looked like a spaceship – so i just said -

“you wouldn’t understand
my love poems…
they are out of this world”

Hey Linda and Julie! Leaving some comments, we love it.

The best way to support MTP is to not only communicate with him through Facebook, but to spark conversation on this site.

Too many folks come here and then fall back on the old Facebook to tell him how they liked the latest poem or post.

Come back soon and give us your feedback on more of the content here! We’re gearing up to be the biggest “Poetry” site in Syracuse!

    THANKS!!
